The OCEC is moving forward!

We sincerely thank all the citizen of Ocean City who stood with us in our quest for fairness and equality with our fellow town employees of the Police and Fire departments. As many of you may have already heard, the charter amendment that would have granted the general employees the right to decide if we wanted to collective bargain with town officials was defeated this time around. However, the OCEC remains committed to gaining a voice in the work we preform and the operation of this town so we will move forward, while working with the council, continuing  to seek the right to collective bargain. The support we have received from the citizens of Ocean City shows us that we are not alone in our belief that ALL Town employees should be treated equally!

We also congratulate Mayor Meehan and Council members Knight, Cymek, Dare, and Mitrecic on their successful campaigns! We look forward to forging relationships with you all and helping to make Ocean City an even better place to live and work.

Stay tuned for updates from us!

The Ocean City Employee Coalition (OCEC)

Join Us For Another Walk This Saturday!

Wondering how you can help to make sure general employees are given the chance to decide for themselves if they want collective bargaining or not?  Come out tomorrow from 9:30AM-5:00PM and join us as we go throughout Ocean City to knock on doors, talk with voter, and get the word out that a vote FOR the charter amendment is a vote to give the general employees a voice in their own situation!  We’ll be meeting at our office space, 11805B Coastal Highway, and going out from there!  You can also check the event out on Facebook!
